Services Offered
The Club is affiliated to the Ulster Flying Club and the British Microlight Aircraft Associatio. All Ulster Microlight members must be members of the UFC. Ulster Microlights is the biggest microlight club/school in Ireland with approximately 40 flying members. Members can fly 365 days a year weather permitting.

Tuition is available 364 days a year at the Newtownards aerodrome (weather permitting). Club membership is £60 PA for students, Full membership is £150 PA. Tuition is £65 per hour. Training is suitable for all levels - from no experience to full license and advance level flyers. Wheelchair users can participate.
All equipment is provided by the club including flying suits.
Trial lessons are available and recommended. Training on flexiwing microlights costs £65 per hour. Training on fixed wing microlights costs £70 per hour. Completion of 25 hours (minimum) tuition and 5 multiple choice exams is essential to complete the license. All of the following exams can be taken on site - Air law, human performance, aircraft technical, navigation, meterology. Coaching is provided by Ulster Microlight instructors
Largest and longest running microlight flying club in Ireland. Best facilities and the only club were you can get both Southern Irish and UK Licences. Ulster microlights have the facilities of the Ulster Flying Club for both safety and permanently manned fire crew. All runways are tarmac and have six different directions for take offs and landings. This airfield is one of the top sites in the UK and Ireland.
