New Alliance Unites Mountain Bikers

A new Mountain Biking Alliance has been set up to help provide a strong, cohesive voice for the rapidly growing sport of mountain biking in Northern Ireland, and to share best practice for the development of new trails across the country.

The Northern Ireland Mountain Biking Alliance will...

1. Provide a strong representative voice for mountain biking in Northern Ireland

2. Promote mountain biking as an important and exciting outdoor activity in Northern Ireland, and one that offers many health, social and economic benefits and opportunities.

3. Assist in the creation and management of a network of sustainable mountain biking trails in Northern Ireland.

4. Promote environmentally sound and socially responsible mountain biking in Northern Ireland.

To achieve this the Alliance will liaise closely with many public sector organisations, including Forest Service, Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Local Councils, SportNI and CAAN, as well as a wide range of others in the voluntary and private sectors.
