Are you interested in local history, landscapes and fascinating stories? If you are then a new programme of guided walks taking place in the autumn may be of interest to you. The walks will take place on Friday afternoons at 2.00pm and will last 1-2 hours. The first walk is to Slanes Graveyard, Souterrain and the Derry Churches on Friday 1st September at 2.00pm, start point is the roadside sign on Ardminnan road south of Cloughey. This will be a one hour walk/talk. The remainder of the programme is as follows:

Friday 8th September       Kearney and Knockinelder Bay; Quintin Castle (1.5 hours)

Friday 15 September       Cloughey Coastal Walk; Kirkistown Castle(1.5 hours)

Friday 22 September       Strangford Lough, Ballyhenry Island and Bay (1.5 hours)

Friday 29 September       Portaferry (1.5 hours)

Your guide will be Brigid Watson. Brigid is a former Education Adviser who has extensive experience as an educator and she has selected a variety of researched walks which are suitable for people of all fitness levels. Cost 1 hour walk £5, 2 hour walk £8, children under 16 free. Guided walks for private groups are available at other times by arrangement.
