Ciclovia Belfast is back for 2017

Belfast cyclists rejoice! Ciclovia Belfast is returning on Sunday 24th September this year.

Beginning from 9:30am that morning, several streets through Belfast will remain closed until 12:30pm allowing cyclists a freeway in the heart of the city.

An official cycle of the route will begin at 10am with the Lord Mayor of Belfast taking part.

The route itself will remain the same as last year with Botanic Avenue, Shaftesbury Square, Bedford Street and Donegall Square West all closed to cars.

In addition to the free entertainment taking place along several of the streets, the Ciclovia is also a great opportunity for people in Belfast to showcase the popularity of cycling and support cycle friendly initiatives.

There will also be an official launch of the event, which will take place this coming Monday 7th August in Belfast City Hall at 2pm. Everyone is free to attend - just bring your bike and a smile!
