West Strand Beach, also known as West Bay or Millstrand is a popular resort beach in the heart of this busy seaside resort.
West Strand Beach is bounded at its northern end by the busy habour and flanked along its eastern boundary by a well used pedestrian/cycle promenade. Easy access to and from the town centre and all associated amenities and services.
The following facilities are available for users with limited mobility: disabled toilets and disabled parking. Concrete access ramp onto West Strand Beach at northern end.
Free parking (approx. 150 spaces - height restriction) is available in West Strand car park in close proximity to the beach.
Located at both ends of the promenade adjacent to the beach - seasonal opening applies.
Open all year round.
By CarWest Strand Beach is located off the Portstewart Road in Portrush - access to the adjacent car park is via the black stone railway arch off Portstewart Road.

By FootTourists can follow the UW/CCW that follows the promenade flanking West Strand Beach. Within Portrush, there are many pedestrian access points giving access from the promenade flanking the eastern boundary of this beach.
From 1st May to 30th Sept horses are not allowed on this beach at any time.

One of the most surfed beaches in Northern Ireland, especially for beginners. This is where most of the surf schools do their beginner surf lessons.
It also has a reef known as 'Blackrocks' for the more experieced who want more of a challenge.
