Newry Canal Tow Path

This 20 mile long distance route runs from Portadown to Newry along the restored towpath of the former Newry Canal. This linear walk/cycle, provides a flat, level surface suitable for walkers and cyclists of all abilities. 

The towpath has been incorporated into the National Cycle Network Route 9 and is a Way Marked trail.   The Newry Canal Towpath is a shared user path by both walkers and cyclists and can therefore be busy at times.

Cyclists are asked to please give way to pedestrians and be prepared to dismount if necessary.
