Crawfordsburn Country Park

Crawfordsburn Country Park

Located on the southern shores of Belfast Lough, there are two excellent beaches, spectacular scenery, tranquil walks through wooded glens and a stunning waterfall, Crawfordsburn Country Park provides a relaxing natural retreat.

Hedgehogs, squirrels and badgers are just some of the animals which make their home in the woodland glen and when walking along the coastal path look out for seals frolicking in the waves.

There are various walking trails and specific trails for people with disabilities.

Cycling or mountain biking is not permitted in the park except on vehicular roads and horse riders must have a permit.

Can the scout centre be booked for private camping ?

Thank you

OutdoorNI 2 August, 2013 @ 13:31

Phyllis,

We think the site is only available for group camping i.e. scouts, youth organisations etc. However why not contact the scout centre warden directly to find out more details. Info available at the following link http://bit.ly/14LMdeU

Hi, Is Santa's grotto at the park? I heard there's a magical Santa's wonderland that's amazing for kids. Not sure if it's true though.

Local Outdoors 6 December, 2013 @ 12:33

Hi Christine,

Many thanks for your enquiry. The Crawfordsburn Scout Centre situated within the park are hosting a Santa's grotto which runs until tomorrow (7th December). I am currently looking to organise a fundraising 'duck race'. We'd like to make it a family fun day and thought that Crawfordsburn Country park would fit the bill

I was wondering if it is possible to use the river for a short duck race. We would have volunteers to collect all the ducks at the close of the river before it heads into the sea. Obviously we'd take account of tides etc so that we can ensure all ducks are collected.

Would there be any issues with us using the river to do this. We'd be looking to do this on the afternoon of Sunday 4th May 2014.

Please could you let me know.

Regards

Beverley

Hello, where would you be able to ask if to horse ride and where could we ride?

OutdoorNI 9 June, 2015 @ 16:41

Hi Alex,

There is no horse riding centre on site at Crawfordsburn Country Park. The nearest horse riding centre listed on OutdoorNI.com is Gransha Equestrian Centre http://www.outdoorni.com/providers/317/gransha-equestrian-centre/ . I would suggest contacting them to discuss possibilities of where it is possible to go riding in the area.

Horse riding is only allowed in certain areas of the park and is by permit only. Contact Crawfordsbrun Country Park directly on this number 028 9185 3621 for more information.
