Island Explorer Family Kayak Session

This activity experience is valid for 10 months from the date of purchase.

Available all year round, 7 days a week, advance booking is required.

We leave at whatever time you wish to leave. Choose between a sunrise early morning paddle, day time or sunset paddle or even a night paddle subject to availability.


Suitable for all abilities, disabled friendly.

Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Recommended minimum age 12 due to the weather and location of sea kayaking.

On The Day

We will meet you in the car park at Whiterock; where one of our instructors will give you a registration form to complete (anyone under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian to sign this form for them) and a health & safety briefing. You will then be kitted up with everything you need for your paddle and introduced to your craft for the day. The tour starts and ends at Whiterock, Killinchy. The session will last approximately 3 hours from arrival to departure, including a short break on one of the scenic islands.

Double sea kayaks are available for those that would rather be chauffeured by their partner or just want to relax. There may be an opportunity to have a single craft each however depending on the weather conditions you may have to kayak in doubles only.

What's Included

A qualified experienced coach to lead you on your tour to give you a memorable learning experience.

All safety equipment, and waterproofs if you require them. We do not provide footwear which must be worn at all times.

What To Bring

Warm comfortable clothing suitable for the weather conditions, a pair of shoes or wellington boots if you wish to try and keep your feet dry. A wind/waterproof jacket if you have one. Snacks and drink to take on your journey.


From Comber/Newtownards drive south towards Downpatrick, follow the road until Balloo. Turn left once you pass Balloo House the Pub / Restaurant on your left. Follow signs for Killinchy and keep driving till you hit the sea! You will find a small car park to park on a hair pin turn adjacent to the sailing club.
