About the Event

This event is part of the Get Wet NI national campaign which opens up an array of opportunities for local people to get involved in a variety of watersports. Watersport clubs based all over Northern Ireland will be offering local people an opportunity to ‘Have a Go’ in a variety of watersports for as little as £10 or less over the weekend of 6th &7th May with events continuing throughout the Summer!

Take the first steps to hours of fun for you, your family and friends! This session offers stand up paddle boarding (SUP) lessons for children to grandparents.

Take in the scenery around Lough Erne as you try your hand at Stand Up Paddle boarding with Erne Paddlers. This is a fast-growing paddle sport providing a great fun core work out with the possibility of getting wet!

On arrival you will be kitted out with all the necessary equipment and given a safety briefing and introduction, and then it will be time to get onto your boards and get paddling! Instructors will be close by to keep a watchful eye throughout the session and provide any tips on improving your technique.

There are 3 sessions 10:00, 12:00, and 14:00. There are 10 spaces in each and each last 1:30 minutes. Provided are the SUP boards and paddles, helmets and buoyancy aids. The session on the water will be approximately 50 mins with the rest of the time spent on kitting out, safety brief and basic information on SUP. A qualified instructor will be there to lead the session.

What to Bring

It is preferable to wear a wet/dry suit, although any sportswear such as running leggings and lycra that doesn’t hold water (no denim) and a light water proof jacket should there be cold windy conditions will be adequate.

Towel and change of clothes essential as you are likely to get wet! Changing room and warm showers at the canoe centre.
