The Camowen and Drumragh Rivers meet at Omagh to form the Strule. The Drumragh is a noted brown trout river with good feeding allowing the trout to grow faster and larger and the Camowen has the characteristics of a mountain stream with some deep pools which hold salmon from late June onwards and fishes well in to October.
The river slowly meanders for around 6miles and the journey takes around 3hrs. Along the way expect to see a variety of wildlife, notably, kingfishers, heron and a shy otter or two.
This journey would suit people with a little kayaking experience and beginner tandem canoeists.
Where?
We meet at Omagh Bus Depot car park, next to the river bank. From there we will car share and make our way to the put in point.
All necessary equipment is included including Kayaks and canoes.
Children over 12 welcomed however must be accompanied with an adult.
