About the Event

Want to DO Something Different? Something Fun? Something Adventurous? Something to Talk About! Well here's our solution that'll ensure you get to DO exactly what you want!

As long as there’s water there’s fun whatever your liquid preference be it the calm and gentleness of flat water touring and general purpose kayaking to the speed and sensation of kayak surfing, the endless challenge of white water rapids and the skill and stamina of play boating.

Under the professional supervision of our staff remains as one of the most fun and versatile all-round adventure activities on offer.

This session will give you an excellent introduction to all apsects of Sea Kayaking while exploring our local waterways, whether you're looking for short escape or wanting to start a long term hobby.

We provide everything you need to include wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets, all technical equipment, transport, our professional staff team to look after you every paddle stroke of the way and of course the full use of our centre facilities both at the start and end of you journey!

Where is it located?

Located at our Adventure Centre in the beautiful Forest Park beside the Market Town of Castlewellan in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains, the Centre is perfectly situated for all levels of Adventure Activities all year round.

What is available? (As well as Kayaking there is a range of great activities available on each Do day however availability changes daily so please ask for the latest)

What is the Activity format?

Getting out there and simply 'Doing it!'

What is included in the course cost?

Full instruction with a professional instructor

All specialist equipment

What is the activity schedule?

Daily Activities begin at 9.30 am until 12.30 pm (Session 1) and 1.30 pm until 4.30 pm (Session 2) - You can book as few or as many activity sessions as you like.

When do the activities run?

Open activities run constantly all year round - check calendar for availability - or upon request for group/club bookings (6 or more).

Please note that on our open courses we have no minimum requirement to run - if you book it we will run it!

What does the centre offer?

This Centre has been offering a variety of Adventure Activities since 1996. With highly qualified staff the Centre is has a wealth of experience teaching beginners to seasoned pros.

What can I do in my free time?

Enjoy the hospitality of the traditional Market Town of Castlewellan with its Bars, Inns and Restaurants.

Enjoy the sites, sounds and attractions of the Forest Park, the Town of Castlewellan or even the nearby seaside resort of Newcastle with stunning promenade and range of hospitality (Shuttles are available to and from Newcastle and other local towns and attractions upon request).

If you find yourself hooked on Adventure, you can enjoy a range of other activities - please ask.

What about local weather conditions?

Due to the flexibility of the course and the versatility of the region, weather rarely impinges upon the course, and remember there's no such thing as poor weather just poor clothing!

What is the activity cost?

£56 per person/£99 per couple per half day/£76 per person/£139 per couple per day (Book more than 1 person and get 10% discount off additional places)

Don't! Lifeline postponement cover for this course is available from only £5.99 - should you be unable to attend for whatever reason you can automatically re-schedule to the next available date - terms and conditions apply.
