Fermanagh is a county dominated by water with the stunning Lough Erne at its heart; therefore it is no surprise that it has a lot to offer when it comes to fun and exhilarating water sports. However you won’t be restricted to getting your thrills on the water as Fermanagh has a lot to offer on land too. There is no shortage of unique and adrenaline pumping activities to get stuck in to, so get your mates or other half on board and get ready to experience Fermanagh like never before.
Be sure to check out our extensive list of activity events and activity ideas in Fermanagh. No experience required, no specialist equipment needed, you don’t need a big group or lots of organisation. Just make a quick call or email to the activity providers to begin your adventure.
Here are some of our top tips:
In the stunning grounds of Blessingbourne Estate, on the Fermanagh / Tyrone border lies Northern Ireland’s premier mountain bike venue. With 6km of Mountain Bike Trail there is something to get everyone’s heart racing. Whether you want to test and improve your skills or are looking to try out this adrenaline inducing sport for the first time the Blessingbourne pump track and trails are the place to be. Check out this video to see the trails in action
For guaranteed fun with mates head to Share Holiday Village. Situated in Lisnaskea, the largest activity provider in Ireland is the perfect place to blow off some steam and have a laugh. For something a bit different take part in a Combat Corps session – a tactical game of team based combat simulation; it is sure to separate the men from the boys (figuratively speaking of course – girls can join in too!) Make a day of it and enjoy one of Share’s many activities on offer including banana boating, archery and kayaking.
For some eco-friendly fun in the heart of the Fermanagh Lakelands head to Corralea Activity Centre. The multi-acitvity centre boasts no less than three water trampolines all connected by various walkways and logs. It’s time to release your inner child as you splash, bounce and slide your way into the water. Once back on dry land it won’t be long before you are experiencing your next thrill with Correlea’s mountain bike pump track.
If you can’t wait to get back on the water then look no further than the Lough Erne Canoe Trail. Fermanagh is home to the magnificent lakes of Upper and Lower Lough Erne, providing 50 kilometres of water to get paddling on. For those wanting a more relaxed paddle or somewhere to build their confidence then Upper Lough Erne is a great place to start with good shelter, narrow channels and slow flowing water. With canoe hire, guided trips and camping facilities all available along the trail it couldn’t be easier to get out paddling. For some inspiration visit our blog and read about one canoeist’s 4 day adventure along the trail.
With so many exciting activities to choose from, why not take a short break.
