Have you ever looked up and seen birds soaring and wondered what it was like, turning in any direction plus going up and spiralling down. Now you can get this thrill safely by joining one of the modern adventure sports clubs in Northern Ireland. These clubs are friendly and all the facilities to realise your dreams of wind in your hair and soaring like a bird.

How To Get Started

Microlight Flight is easily achieved by joining one of the local clubs. The addresses can be acquired by internet www.BMAA.ORG.

The requirement for the private pilots licence is 25 hours minimum flying experience with a qualified flying instructor. Pass a number of exams that you would be coached in and get a declaration of health from your own doctor. Easy, anyone can do it.

Is It Expensive?

Flying was expensive in the past and indeed can still be, but with microlighting it can now be done reasonably cheap. The first expense is the licence and in general can cost in the region of £2,500 over a period if you wish (1 or 2 years). The next expense would be the aircraft and this you can buy from as little as £3000 up to £50,000 it’s your choice. Several clubs have aircraft syndicates which can share the cost of aircraft hangerage etc. This really brings the cost of flying and operating the aircraft down.
